Chapter 12

Cin

The dorm room is simple, but larger and nicer than the closet I lived in at the House of Charms, so there’s that. A queen bed, a dresser, and a desk occupy the space. Seeing as we only have one room, I’m assuming Griffin and I are sharing. I’m more than okay with that; I’d rather have my mates close anyway.

There’s an attached bathroom, so that’s a big plus too. At the House of Charms, I had to use a communal bathroom with the other pleasure workers, and it wasn’t pleasant. I had expected to experience the same unpleasantries here as well.

We drop our luggage inside and step back out to find Nikos in the hall, as he promised. I stop and stare at him for a moment, unable to help myself as I study his black hair that’s short on the sides and long on the top. It gives him that hot, bad boy vibe I can’t resist, and don’t get me started on his alluring golden eyes.

And then there’s his scent. It’s all male musk with a faint hint of mint, and it’s irresistible.

He’s leaning against the wall opposite our door with his arms crossed and a wicked smirk that seems permanently affixed to his handsome face.

On the way up to our room, he said it was time for dinner, so he’d graciously show us where we need to go and keep us company. His words, not mine. I’m not sure anything he’s done today has been gracious. He’s an arrogant male, and if his interaction with the administrator in the office was any indication, he’s a bit of a dick too.

An attractive dick.

He makes my heart pound and my stomach flutter, and I have a sinking suspicion about who he is to me—about who he is to our group—but I need to research things a bit more before I make a move. I want to be sure, because the only way to test this theory of mine is to fuck Nikos and have him bite me. There are so many what ifs about this whole thing, and if I manage to bond with Nikos, but he isn’t the fourth member of our quad, what happens then?

I’m afraid I’ll mess everything up.

There has to be a way to prove who is or isn’t part of the quad before the bonding bite. I just need to find it.

I need to read more of that journal. Hopefully it will have the answers I’m looking for.

But first we need to get through dinner, and then Griffin and I can escape back to our new room.

“Shall we?” Nikos says as he straightens up from the wall he was leaning against. I don’t bother answering him. Instead I gesture for him to lead the way, and he does.

It doesn’t take long for us to get to the dining hall. We had to descend two flights of stairs and pass through a series of hallways, but given the size of this school, I was half-expecting the walk to take at least twice as long.
